1. General provisions
These Terms of Service (hereinafter "ToS") govern the use of the Tiko platform, accessible via the website and mobile application. Tiko is a land transport ticket booking platform operated by Tiko Technologies SARL, a company incorporated under Burkinabe law and registered at the RCCM of Ouagadougou.
By using the platform, the user unconditionally accepts these ToS. Tiko reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of any changes via a notification on the platform.
2. User account
Registration on Tiko is done via a valid mobile phone number in Burkina Faso (+226). A verification code (OTP) is sent by SMS to validate the user's identity.
The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their account and all activities carried out under their identifier. They agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Tiko reserves the right to suspend or delete any account in case of fraudulent or non-compliant use.
3. Booking
Booking a transport ticket via Tiko constitutes a contract between the traveler and the relevant transport company. Tiko acts as a technical intermediary and does not substitute for the transport company.
Each booking is confirmed after payment validation. An electronic ticket including a QR code and a unique reference is sent by SMS to the registered number. The traveler must present this ticket at boarding along with a valid ID (CNIB, passport, or driver's license).
Passenger information (last name, first name, ID number) must be accurate. Tiko and transport companies decline all responsibility in case of errors in the information provided by the traveler.
4. Payment
Ticket payment is made exclusively via authorized mobile money services: Orange Money and Moov Money. The total amount corresponds to the ticket price set by the transport company.
Payment is considered completed after confirmation of the transaction by the mobile money operator. In case of payment failure, the booking is not confirmed and no amount is debited.
Displayed prices are in CFA Francs (FCFA) and include all applicable taxes.
5. Cancellation and refund
Cancellation conditions vary depending on the transport companies:
- More than 24 hours before departure: 80% refund of the ticket price.
- Between 12 and 24 hours before departure: 50% refund of the ticket price.
- Less than 12 hours before departure: no refund.
- Cancellation by the company: full refund (100%) within 72 hours.
Refunds are made to the same mobile money account used during payment within 24 to 72 business hours.
6. Liability
Tiko acts as an intermediary platform. Liability for transport rests exclusively with the transport company. Tiko cannot be held responsible for delays, cancellations, incidents, or damages related to the transport itself.
Tiko is committed to ensuring the availability and proper functioning of the platform. However, temporary interruptions for maintenance or updates may occur. Tiko does not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the platform.
In case of a dispute between a traveler and a transport company, Tiko commits to facilitating resolution as a mediator, without obligation of result.
7. Data protection
Tiko is committed to protecting the personal data of its users in accordance with current Burkinabe legislation, in particular Law No. 010-2004/AN on the protection of personal data. For more details, please consult our Privacy Policy.
